Day 1 :

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport

On your first day of travel, you will arrive at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport. After landing at Nepal's only international Airport and checking out from the gate, you will be picked up by the agency people you have contacted. Then you will be dropped off at the hotel that your agency or you have pre-booked. You will take a rest and after a while, you can explore some of the Kathmandu popular places like thamel buddha, etc. You can go shopping for the necessary equipment required during the journey or take some SPA to relax your body and make it fully prepared for the great journey to Mardi Himal. You will collect all the flight-related documents and prepare for the journey.

Day 2 :

Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara, Drive to Kande; Trek to Deurali (2100 m)1-hour drive, and 4-5 hours walking).

As per your flight booking, you will take a flight to Pokhara, or you can travel via private vehicle or any sort of transportation. But traveling by flight might be the best option, as you will be able to see the beauty of Pokhara from the sky. After arriving in Pokhara, you can take some rest and head towards Kande. It will take approximately an hour to reach Kande via vehicle. After reaching Kande, you will have to walk for nearly 2-3 hours to reach the Australian Camp. After continuous trekking of about 45 minutes from the Australian camp, you will finally reach Deurali. The first day comes to an end after a successful trek to a Deurali.

Day 3 :

Trek from Pitam Deurali-Forest Camp to Low Camp (2985 m, 6-7 hours hiking)

In the early morning, you will have a light breakfast, pack essentials, and start your journey to the low camp. Reminder Low Camp Altitude:is 2,970 m (9,744 ft), so there might be altitude sickness for an unfit or health issue person, so please take the necessary medicine if possible. During the journey, you will travel through a forest with many trees, such as rhododendrons, oak, maple, and hemlock. It will take you around 4 to 5 hours to reach the forest camp. You might experience some difficulty if you are a beginner or non trekking person. If so, you can divide the day and prolong your journey to seven days instead of six, according to the blog we have written. After continuous trekking for 6-7 hours, you will finally reach the low camp. You will stay at the lodge. Reminder: As earlier mentioned, there are very few accommodation facilities, so please pre-book the lodges as per your requirements.

Day 4 :

Trek from low camp to high camp (3,550 meters) (5/6 hours).

Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will begin making your way to High Camp. After approximately 3-4 hours of trekking, you will arrive at Badal Danda, where you can enjoy tea and lunch. Through Badal Danda, you will experience breathtaking sightings of Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Machhapuchhre, and Mardi Himal. It will take you around 5 to 6 hours to reach high camp. During the trip, you will witness the beauty of nature, where different vegetation, especially the rhododendron, which is also the national flower of Nepal, will add some additional attributes to the beauty of nature. But after a tentative 3 -4 hours of trekking from Badal Dhanda, you will witness the trees and foliage begin to disappear and the landscape become more barren. Finally, after so much trekking, you will reach the high camp, located at an altitude of 3550 meters. Due to its higher altitude, you may face an altitude problem. You can overcome altitude sickness by simply drinking plenty of water, eating appropriately, and importantly, eating high, and sleeping low. You will spend overnight in the high camp, take a rest, and prepare for the Mardi Himal base camp.

Day 5 :

Trek from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp and Return to Badal Danda

Your day four starts with the beginning of a tough climb through the ridge to Mardi Himal Base Camp. As the trail is hard, uneven, and slippery, this is the most challenging and risky move of the journey. The route goes along the crest of the Mardi Himal, basically on grass with a few isolated rhododendrons. The trek will take about 4 -5 hours of walking, taking you to and fro the Mardi Himal Base Camp at an elevation of 4500 m. After you successfully conquer the base camp, you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the Annapurna Sanctuary and snow-capped peaks such as the Mardi Himal, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. You will enjoy the view and have some rest before heading back to Badal Dhanda. You will stay overnight at Badal Dhada.

Day 6 :

Trek to Sidhing and travel back to Pokhara (822 m) (6/7 hours).

Early in the morning, you will march towards Sidhing village, and it will take you approximately 6 hours. Siding is a typical Nepalese village that remains far away from the busy commercial visitor journeys. You will tentatively cover 11.2 km to reach Sidling village. After reaching the Sidhing village, you will take a vehicle and travel toward Pokhara. In approximately 2 hours you will be at Pokhara. You can spend the day in Pokhara by enjoying the nightlife in Pokhara or simply take a rest and prepare for returning to Kathmandu.

Day 7 :

Return to Kathmandu

Finally, after all the ups and downs, collecting all the mesmerizing views, and clearing all the tackles to reach the Mardi Himal base camp, you will return to Kathmandu by flight or via roadway.

Final Departure

Your journey comes to an end today, but the memories you make will last a lifetime. You'll prepare to say farewell to the country that provided you with this incredible opportunity. An agent will pick you up and take you to the airport in time for your flight home. It is recommended you to be present at the airport two hours before departure.

When is the Best Time for Mardi Himal Trek?

Winter
