Beautiful Tamang villages with Tibetan influences, Chortens, Mani walls, terrace fields, 80–120 m waterfalls, and many more sights can be seen throughout the entire walk. After trekking through forested pathways, steep inclines, and uneven terrain, you will arrive at the center of the Tamang Heritage.

The hot springs of Tatopani are designed to help you unwind and revitalize, while the snow-capped peaks of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Shishapangma will inspire you. The journey to Syabrubesi, from where we will kick off our journey towards Gatlang (2,240m), a point of view from where we can gaze at the magnificent panorama of Ganesh Himal, Gosainkunda, and Goljang Valley, is the very beginning phase of this ten-day Tamang Heritage trek.

Day 1 :

Arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport - Received by MTA

It's the start of a magnificent trekking journey for Tamang Heritage Trek, Day 1. Today you can arrive at the airport at your own scheduled time. MTA will pick you up from the airport. The Trek officially begins upon your arrival in Kathmandu. Kathmandu is a magnificent balance of modernization and tradition, combining an impressive artistic and cultural heritage with modern progression. After you've settled in and taken a rest in the designated hotel, you may either spend your free time touring the vibrant nightlife of Thamel or relaxing in your comfortable lodging after sunset. If you arrive early, stroll around Durbar Square to deep dive into the essence of Nepalese traditional culture and heritage.

Day 2 :

Trek Preparation Day/Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

Day 2 starts with a nice morning breakfast at the hotel or you can try out a local breakfast of Nepalese people right away in the streets of Kathmandu. Then you can go through the necessary equipment, supplies, and gear that you need for the trek. If you are missing some necessary gears and equipment, Thamel is the spot for you where all of the equipment can be rented or purchased at a fair price for better quality including a rain-covering backpack, sunglasses, sunscreen, trekking poles and a sleeping bag. Today, you can also visit the Pashupatinath Temple, explore the Boudhanath Stupa, one of Nepal's largest spherical stupas and the center of Tibetan Buddhism and reach as far as Basantapur Durbar Square, reflecting the true nature of the Ancient Nepal Kingdom.

Day 3 :

Drive to Syabrubesi (1460 meters)

Early in the morning, you will be starting your breathless journey to Langtang Valley. As soon as you leave Kalanki via tourist bus, you will make your way along the Trishuli River through hills, and terraced fields with the magnificent sight of Ganesh Himal. You will be leaving the bustling city behind to be on the Prithvi Mid Hill highway to enjoy the twists and turns as you see the rolling hills attempting to catch up. This trip will take 6-7 hours, with many pauses along the way to stretch your legs and have a delightful lunch in streetside hotels and lodges. You will make a halt at the local lodge in Syabrubesi to have dinner and spend the rest of your night.

Day 4 :

Trek to Gatlang (2238 meters)

Today's trek begins with a 2-hour easy rise via Chilime. The place offers breathtaking views of Ganesh Himal and the Gosaikunda range, as well as Goljang Valley. About an hour later, the trail slopes into Goljung Valley where a soul fulfilling lunch and sweet break will be favorable for you. With vistas of peaks like Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Shishapangma on the horizon, you will be heading towards Gatlang where Gatlang is a small Tamang village with rows of traditional stone homes along with the special historic monastery and Parvati Kunda. You will begin to deep dive into the distinct Tamang culture from here for the journey ahead.

Day 5 :

Trek to Tatopani (2607 meters)

Today, you will kindly set out to continue the Tamang Heritage Trek, starting from Gatlang and ending in Tatopani. During the initial journey, you will pass through many Chortens, Mani walls, and lush woodlands before arriving at Bamdang Khola. Fueled by the energy of descent, you'll face a steep uphill to Tatopani along the suspension bridge crossing. When you arrive in Tatopani, you can enjoy the natural hot springs for a small fee, as it is famed for its natural hot springs that relieve all of your fatigue from the long magnificent trip.

Day 6 :

Trek to Nagthali (3165 meters )

After breakfast, you will continue on the Tamang Heritage Trail through a magnificent rhododendron woodland, where you will hear the chirps of gray Langur monkeys hanging about the vines and moss trees. The trail to Nagthali steadily gains elevation while passing a lot of ups and downs. Nagthali Danda (3165m) is reached after a steep uphill approach to the highest peak of the Tamang Heritage Trek. Once you reach Nagthali Danda, a huge grassland with breathtaking views of Langtang, Kerung, and Ganesh Himal along with Sishapangma, Kerung, and Sanjen mountains along the way. Standing at Nagthali Peak will give you the true countryside experience that you seek through Tamang Heritage Trek.

Day 7 :

Trek to Timure (1762 meters)

On the 7th day, you will be on the back foot of the trek with the rise to Timure after having the morning breakfast via the way of a ridge. After a quick descent to the Bhote Koshi River via Dalphedi, you are on for a planned trail ascent to Timure. The locals at Timure will welcome you with a folk dance and song and you will have a great time here. Rasuwa-Gadhi is within a three-hour trek from Timure, a historic fortress on the Nepal-Tibet border, but crossing the border is not permitted. Throughout your time in the village, you will notice a significant Tibeto-Burman influence.

Day 8 :

Trek to Briddhim (2229 meters)

The 8th day of the Tamang heritage trek leads you back to the route for Syabrubesi along the descending Trishuli river but the stop for the day will be in the Tamang village named Briddhim. The trail climbs steeply to a hilltop with better views of the Alps and surroundings before entering a forest of rhododendrons, pines, and oaks. Eventually, you will reach Briddhim where you will gain insight into the peculiar culture and traditions of the Tamang people, who continue to live the Tibetan way of life with an interesting old monastery on the outskirts of the village. You will stay here for the night and have much-needed rest from the trek after having an authentic Nepali Dal-bhat.

Day 9 :

Trek to Syabrubesi (1460 meters)

Your journey over the Tamang Heritage Trek itinerary is nearing its finish. Today after having morning breakfast, you will head back to Syabrubesi via rhododendron trees and across the Bhote Koshi River. At some point on the back foot, you will cross Bhote Koshi River where large fields of paddy and corn will cover every inch of the land, providing a view of beautiful traditional terrace farming. Our trek ends at Syabrubesi, leaving behind mesmerizing mountain views after arriving at our destination after a three to four-hour journey where you have the remainder of your day to freely engage with the locals. You might also want to explore some local shops and consider purchasing some souvenirs to keep a memory of this beautiful yet unforgettable journey.

Day 10 :

Drive back to Kathmandu (1400 meters)

After boarding a bus from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu, your Tamang Heritage Trek adventure will be finally at the concluding point. After having a proper morning breakfast, you will board a local bus or private vehicle bound for Kathmandu. The drive will take approximately 6-7 hours and will return to Kathmandu over the same roadway with the Trishuli River flowing against the direction of Kathmandu. Once you have arrived in Kathmandu, you will be taken to the hotel and you have got the rest of the evening to yourselves. You can either rest at the hotel or if you are in for more exploration, you are recommended to stroll around Thamel and Durbarmarg to enjoy its beautiful nightlife. Basantapur Durbar Square can be a great option to spend the rest of the evening if you like cultural and religious enlightenment as it is one of the most important places of Nepal in context to the cultural heritage of Ancient Nepal.

Day 11 :

Final Departure

After a long journey, today is the day to set your ties and goodbye to a beautiful trek and a beautiful country, Nepal, and depart for your home nation. Before saying goodbye, you are free to explore the city for the souvenirs and goods you want to take back to your country as a memory of adventure done within this beautiful land. Is the Tamang Heritage Trek suitable for beginners?

The Tamang Heritage Trek is considered one of the easiest treks among other treks. So, the trail is suitable for beginners. The lodges are a comparatively expensive kind of accommodation that can be found on the route for the Tamang Heritage Trek. They have private and big-spaced rooms for the trekkers. Lodges also generally provide you facilities of WiFi, bathrooms with hot showers, electronic device charging, and TVs for entertainment.
